In front of the Royal Palace in Bhaktapur’s Durbar Square are the large Teleju Bell (1737), King Bhupatindra Malla’s column (1699), and the shikhara-style stone Vatsala Durga Temple (1672). Much of Bernardo Bertolucci¹s movie Little Buddha was filmed near the Vatsala Temple. On the left is Chyasilin Mandapam, an octagonal temple rebuilt in 1990 after it was destroyed by fire in 1934.
